The City's economic base is diverse and many of Schertz primary employers serve national and international markets with their products and services. The City is focused on creating high wage jobs in professional and technical fields. The City's tremendous growth is partly attributed to its strategic location along the I-35 and I-10 corridors as well as its business-friendly climate, but the City's residents are the ones that help give the community its notable character. Nearly two-thirds of Schertz residents have some college or a bachelor's degree. The highly educated and relatively young workforce helps ensure that Schertz will continue to possess the talents and skills needed to help companies and families grow and prosper into the 21st century. The City offers various parks, recreational facilities, shopping and cultural amenities.
